Over 1 billion people speak Mandarin worldwide, whereas there are approximately 840 million English speakers worldwide. As China continues to grow into an economic superpower, speaking Mandarin will be an essential skill to conducting global business. And what better place to learn Mandarin than in China!
Program length: Summer, semester or year-long
Program location: Beijing or Shanghai
Classroom sessions: 20 hours a week
Conversation sessions: 10 hours a week outside of the classroom in the form of a language exchange with a native Mandarin speaker
Cultural visits: Weekly visits to cultural institutions are organized in order to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Chinese culture
Business visits: Students will visit various Chinese companies to get a better understanding of the Chinese business environment
Lecture series: Chinese and expatriate professionals will give talks to students on various aspects of their lives (professional and personal stories) in order to present a varied view of China
